About Well-Wind, a general incorporated association
Throughout my career as a dancer, I have been involved in performing arts activities, and have been fortunate to meet many people and gain various opportunities and experiences.
Their journey has extended beyond the creation of dance works to encompass community engagement, education, and international cultural exchange.
Specifically, this includes creating and researching dance works that focus on the theme of "water" and cherish "the joy of living," "the brilliance of life," and "the interconnectedness of life,"
Promoting regional culture through artistic and cultural activities as an instructor at "Dance Incubation Field Okayama," a municipal dance company established in Okayama City.
Art and cultural exchange through hands-on workshops born from encounters between local children and artists.
As a university professor, I have been involved in cultural exchanges that "weave together their respective passions," such as between students who love dance and electric wheelchair soccer players.
Furthermore, opportunities for exchange with children and their families who have roots overseas, centered around Japanese culture,
Cultural exchange, exchange of ideas, and workshop visits with dancers, artists, educational institutions, and dance companies from overseas.
I have built an international network through activities such as observing rehearsals.
These exchanges provide valuable opportunities to broaden perspectives in creative work and educational practices.
This forms the basis of our current activities.
Rather than letting these practices and aspirations end as mere personal activities,
I've come to believe that in order to sustainably pass on and develop these traditions, a "structure" or "framework" is necessary to support them.
Therefore, with the aim of ensuring the continuation and success of our activities, and expanding their further possibilities,
We have established the general incorporated association Well-Wind.
The image behind the name Well-Wind
This wind was born in this land, enveloped by the winds of our ancestors, and nurtured along with the light of the future.
Eventually, like the wind, he himself begins a journey to paint the light of the future.
The wind circulates the past and the future, and sometimes even seals off that circulation itself.
The journey of the wind creates encounters, and eventually, these places become platforms where the wind circulates.
There, not only joy but also a reality shrouded in deep sorrow emerges.
Nevertheless, the creative activities that arise from trying to "keep each other alive" and trying to "live" oneself are
To make them physically experience the richness of connection,
Through unique physicality and means of expression, and interactions that transcend age and gender,
This has led to the creation of mutual understanding and respect.
The wind returns once more, playing the melody of its memories.
And the "winds that meet" give rise to a new wind,
An invisible platform is being established here.
While weaving together expressions that emerge from invisible interactions and communication,
From this place where I was born, enveloped in a warm breeze,
The winds of Well-Wind will continue to blow.
